Currently, some customers may use 3rd party software to receive details regarding their Optus internet usage. Effective immediately, Optus will be increasing the level of protection used to hold customer usage data by restricting access that may have been used by 3rd party usage measuring tools to display customer information (for example: firefox/google usage plug-ins).
These 3rd party applications have not been developed, provided or certified by Optus and as such present a high security risk for customers. Consequently, 3rd party usage tools may no longer display Optus Internet usage. Depending on the 3rd party tool used by the customer an error message may be displayed.
