Optus customers have recently been targeted with a variety of phishing emails. These emails are a hoax and are not sent by Optus.
These emails can come in a variety of forms that includes:
- Asking you to click on a link that may take you to a false Optuszoo website.
- Asking you to reply to an email that is not an @optusnet.com.au email address
- Asking you to provide personal information such as: full name, date of birth, password
A lot of times these hoax emails will say that if you do not follow the instructions, your internet account will be closed.
Optus will never ask customers for a password via email. Please simply disregard & delete any hoax emails that you may receive.
